Catarina Martins will meet with all the motions at the next Convention, which is scheduled for the end of November at Bloco de Esquerda. After Mariana Mortágua’s announcement that she would not reapply for the coordination of the Block, the MEP, former leader and now presidential candidate will seek consensus among the activists, detailing the mission of the race to Belém and also the forms of financing for it.

It is recalled that to the DN, the opposing motions had expressed, mainly, doubts regarding the party’s financial sustainability for the candidacy. At issue, DN found, the name was not mentioned because Catarina Martins is one of the most popular political media figures and appreciated by the vast majority of activists.

Naturally, with the imminent change in coordination, the Presidential issue will have greater discussion, with phalanxes positioning themselves differently in certain cases.

The four motions opposing the motion that elects the Political Commission and the National Board regretted that the advancement of the candidate, who promptly had the support of the party, did not have proper consultation.

Remember that José Manuel Pureza and José Soeiro, both from Moção A, are the favorites among those elected in the last National Table to take on the race for the position of party coordinator.
