For the former socialist leader, who stepped away from leadership after the defeat in the legislative elections on May 18, “as everyone has already realized, the victory of Alexandra Leitão and the Viver Lisboa coalition is possible, if we do not disperse the vote”. And, despite guaranteeing that he has “a lot of respect for the PCP and João Ferreira”, he recalls that in local elections, whoever has the most votes becomes president of the Lisbon Chamber.
Regarding Carlos Moedas’ mandate, Pedro Nuno Santos says that the social democrat “was a bad president”, who “did not solve any of the problems he inherited and worsened several”, with “the consensus being that the city is now dirtier, more impassable and that access to housing has become even more difficult”.
On the contrary, the former general secretary of the PS says that his former parliamentary leader “always revealed competence and work capacity”, whether as a teacher, secretary of state or minister. And he adds that the “intelligent, qualified woman with her heart in the right place” will have the strength and will to solve the city’s problems and “will not take refuge [sic] never in propaganda or lies, as the current president does”.
