One of our favorite ways to begin a wedding day is with all of your details! We do this for a few reasons:
You, our beautiful bride, is occupied in a chair getting pampered with hair and makeup so we try to keep photos of you to a minimum until you’re camera-ready
It lets us hang out with your bride tribe for a bit and make friends with YOUR friends before pointing cameras at everyone
There’s literally no other time to do it (a girl needs her shoes on)
Details often feel like an art in its own — totally separate from the art of photography. It’s something we love experimenting and getting creative with! We love getting to see what you’ve chosen and letting it all shine together. Because we know how important all of these pieces are, we really embrace *your* style for your big day. This is why we ask questions about your inspiration and color palette for the day during planning calls!
10 must-have items for your wedding day details
Thankfully, *most* of these items should already be around. But we love lists around here so we try to make it a little easier when planning! Here’s a list of our top 10 items for your wedding day details:
Wedding dress
Veil
Shoes
Jewelry (earrings, necklace, etc.)
Bouquet
Loose florals (ask your florist to include a few pieces and stems for details)
Invitation suite (envelopes and all)
Perfume
Rings (ALL 3 rings — engagement and both wedding bands)
Heirloom pieces (grandmother’s brooch, family bible, grandfather’s handkerchief, etc.
Bonus: 7 items to gather for groom details
Depending on the way the day flows and where everyone is getting ready, we love the chance to also get some details for our grooms too! Here are some ideas for the guys:
Shoes
Tie
Cufflinks
Watch
Cologne
Boutonniere
Heirloom pieces
We know this may seem like a lot to think about so we recommend putting all of the smaller pieces into a little box as you collect them. It’s also great for easy transportation on the big day — you won’t regret it!
